Job summary

Thorlabs seeks an assembler to join our Sterling, VA facility, working in a dedicated cell under supervision to assemble mechanical, electrical, and optical components. You will interpret drawings and instructions, prepare parts, and ensure high-quality final assemblies with minimal scrap.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in similar manufacturing roles, basic blueprint reading, and soldering capability. Expect a fast-paced team environment with strong safety practices and the chance to grow

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or optical assembly in a manufacturing environment.
• Soldering capability preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and products to meet quality standards.
• Follow written work instructions and schematics.
• Meet production timelines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures.
• Train new employees on assembling components and products.
• Assist in inventory cycle counting and notify supervisor of low stock levels.
