Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking an assembler to complete the full process of hoist assembly, from fitting parts to final testing, following blueprints and instructions. The role includes rotating through assembly classifications, handling parts with a crane, and performing load tests on assembled hoists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, process sheets and written instructions.
• Willingness to rotate across assembly classifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Align components and fasten them with bolts, screws, or rivets.
• Install moving parts and test free movement after assembly.
• Align and mesh gears in gearboxes to assemble the system.
• Test operation of completed products and sub-assemblies.
• Move parts from storage to work area using manual methods or overhead crane.
• Operate hydraulic press to assemble bearings and rivets.
• Connect wires to subassemblies and perform load tests.
• Assemble hoist sub-assemblies and related components for testing.
• Document work performed and report labor using time clocks.
