Job summary

Aerotek is hiring an Assembler in Dallas, TX, for a hands-on role in a machine shop environment. You will assemble small components and large assemblies, perform brazing and welding, and verify dimensions with precision tools.

You will inspect parts to prints, deburr and finish surfaces, and operate grinders and lathes. The job requires safety compliance, quality focus, and teamwork on a first-shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling mechanical components and large assemblies in a machine shop/manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately.
• Hands-on brazing and welding experience.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, etc.).
• Deburring and grinding metal as part of finishing processes.
• Experience operating machine shop equipment (grinders, presses, lathes, etc.).
• Ability to perform machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and adherence to safety standards.
• Meet production targets while maintaining quality; minimize rework and scrap.
• Ability to train new team members and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and large mechanical assemblies per blueprints and work instructions.
• Perform brazing and welding operations as required.
• Use calipers, micrometers, radius gauges, and other tools to verify dimensions.
• Inspect parts to ensure conformance to prints and quality standards.
• Deburr and grind parts to finish specifications.
• Operate and change over machine shop equipment; troubleshoot when needed.
• Maintain safety practices and clean, organized work area.
• Meet work order build times and production schedules.
• Assist other departments to meet production goals.
• Train new hires on shop layout, equipment, and processes.
