Job summary

Pave America is seeking a skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to safely operate heavy machinery on construction projects in Fort Worth, TX. You will support grading, paving and material handling with hands-on experience in asphalt paver equipment and a strong commitment to safety.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, can read grade stakes and blueprints, and follows OSHA standards. CDL is a plus; willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or sitework.
• Proficient with asphalt paver machines.
• Ability to read grade stakes and blueprints to follow project specs.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to site requirements.
• Adjust handwheels or grade controls to hit exact thickness.
• Extend or retract screed extensions to match road width or curves.
• Monitor hot asphalt height and keep screed plate clean.
• Maintain screed heat to prevent sticking and tearing.
• Read site plans and project layouts; perform inspections.
• Report equipment issues to supervisor and coordinate with crew.
