Job summary

American National is seeking a detail-oriented Disbursement Specialist to join our Annuity Operations team in Texas. You will review, validate, and process annuity distribution requests while ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely completion.

The role requires handling diverse transactions, communicating with policy owners and agents by phone and email, and applying tax and withholding rules to ensure proper processing and reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and process annuity distribution requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Process transactions including full/partial surrenders, systematic withdrawals, 1035 exchanges, fixed and interest-only distributions.
• Communicate with policy owners, financial professionals, and internal departments via phone and email.
• Review documentation for fraud prevention and risk mitigation.
• Apply knowledge of annuity taxation and distribution requirements for proper processing and reporting.
• Maintain knowledge of withholding requirements and IRS regulations.
• Handle processing involving traditional and Roth IRAs, 401(k), 457, and pension-related annuity distributions; RMDs; 72(t) distributions; transfers and rollovers; inherited and spousal distributions.
• Enter, validate, and maintain transaction data in multiple systems.
• Collaborate with team members to meet service expectations and deadlines.
• Review and process Time-sensitive New York Regulation 60 transactions per policy and regulatory guidelines.
