Job summary

Advanced Agrilytics seeks a Precision Agronomist (PA) to deliver expert agronomic advice and tailored precision farming solutions to farmers and agribusinesses in Illinois. You will blend agronomy with strong sales and relationship-building to promote technology adoption and farm profitability.

The PA reports to the Regional Agronomy Lead (RAL) in Illinois, near Champaign, Monticello, Tuscola, Arcola, and Danville.

Qualifications

Four-year bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or related field with 3+ years of experience (preferred) or Associate degree with 5+ years of related experience.
Must be willing/maintain or obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment
Demonstrates passion for exceeding customer needs and the ability to influence and close the sale
Knowledge of Precision Agriculture preferred
Comfortable challenging customers and playing the role of a change agent to efficiently improve customer operations
Strong listening skills to appreciate unique customer needs and align them into compelling value propositions
Must reside in the U.S., and live in the applicable regional territory

Responsibilities

Perform customer needs assessment with farmers and agronomists to tailor precision solutions.
Provide data-driven farm analyses and grower plans using proprietary software offerings.
Drive sales by identifying opportunities and achieving targets.
Lead and develop a team of agronomists and sales reps; conduct performance reviews and growth plans.
Stay updated on precision ag technologies, products, and market trends; feed product teams with field feedback.
Collaborate with Research Team Leads to identify grower fields for research projects in your area
