Job summary

AdvancedAgrilytics is seeking a Precision Agronomist (PA) in Illinois to deliver expert agronomic advice and tailored precision farming solutions to farmers and agribusinesses. You will blend agronomy knowledge with sales and relationship-building to optimize inputs, improve yields, and increase profitability.

You’ll report to the Regional Agronomy Lead and work across multiple IL territories, applying data-driven insights and coordinating with the Research Team Leads on grower field projects.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or related field with 3+ years experience preferred; or an Associate degree with 5+ years related experience.
• Must be willing to obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment.
• Demonstrates passion for exceeding customer needs and ability to influence and close sales.
• Knowledge of Precision Agriculture preferred.
• Comfortable challenging customers and acting as a change agent to improve customer operations.
• Strong listening skills to understand customer needs and translate into value propositions.
• Must reside in the U.S. and live in the applicable regional territory.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with farmers and agronomists to understand operations, goals, and challenges.
• Conduct farm assessments and use data-driven insights to tailor precision ag solutions.
• Provide agronomic advice to optimize input usage (fertilizers, pesticides, water) from data and precision farming techniques.
• Deliver portfolio prescriptions with clear rationale and help customers make informed business decisions.
• Build grower crop plans, rotations, and product positioning to maximize acre potential.
• Lead and mentor a team of agronomists and sales reps, guiding technical solutions and sales strategy.
