Job summary

Advanced Agrilytics is seeking a Precision Agronomist to deliver expert agronomic advice and tailored precision farming solutions to farmers and agribusinesses in Illinois. The role blends agronomy knowledge with sales and relationship-building to help customers adopt technologies that optimize inputs, enhance yields, and increase profitability.

Based in the Champaign–Monticello–Danville region, you will perform needs assessments, partner with researchers, mentor a team of agronomists and sales

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or related field with 3+ years of experience (preferred) or an Associate degree with 5+ years of related experience.
• Must be willing to obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment.
• Passion for exceeding customer needs and the ability to influence and close sales.
• Knowledge of Precision Agriculture preferred.
• Comfortable challenging customers and playing the role of a change agent to efficiently improve customer operations.
• Strong listening skills to appreciate unique customer needs and align them into compelling value propositions.
• Must reside in the U.S. and live in the applicable regional territory.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with farmers and agronomists to understand operations, goals, and challenges.
• Conduct farm assessments and use data-driven insights to tailor precision agriculture solutions.
• Provide technical and agronomic advice to optimize input usage based on collected data and precision farming techniques.
• Provide recommendations to customers using proprietary software offerings and develop grower crop plans, rotations, and product positioning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of agronomists and sales representatives; conduct performance reviews and develop growth plans.
• Stay up-to-date with latest precision ag technologies and provide feedback to product teams based on field experiences.
