Job summary

Advanced Agrilytics in Illinois seeks a Precision Agronomist to deliver expert agronomic advice and tailored precision farming solutions, blending agronomy with sales and relationship-building to enhance yields and farm profitability.

You will assess farms, develop crop plans, and lead a team while staying current on precision agriculture technologies. The role reports to the Regional Agronomy Lead in Illinois, with a focus on customer-centric outcomes.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, or related field with 3+ years of experience (preferred) or Associates degree with 5+ years of related experience.
• Must be willing to obtain a Certified Crop Advisor certification within 1 year of employment.
• Demonstrates passion for exceeding customer needs and the ability to influence and close the sale.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with farmers and agronomists to understand operations, goals, and challenges.
• Conduct farm assessments and use data-driven insights to tailor precision agriculture solutions.
• Provide technical and agronomic advice to optimize input usage based on collected data and precision farming techniques.
• Develop grower crop plans, rotations, and product positioning.
• Serve as a sub-acre practitioner working alongside growers to showcase product positioning and deliver portfolio prescriptions.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data for year-end reviews with customers.
• Prospect via existing relationships and cold calling to generate opportunities and customer acquisition.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building relationships with farmers, agribusinesses, and industry stakeholders.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of agronomists and sales representatives; conduct performance reviews and training.
