Job summary

South Central FS is seeking a MiField Agronomy Intern in Vandalia, IL. The role supports the Area Agronomy Manager by turning data into insights from MiField imagery and in-field observations, with hands-on skill development in precision farming and customer interaction.

Responsibilities include tissue sampling, drone imagery analysis, and weekly trial monitoring, under safety and policy guidelines. Internship offers exposure to FS Crop Specialists and the Precision Ag team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of college experience in an ag-related degree program.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with crop specialist on utilizing MiField technology, and discuss and deliver results with recommendations to customers.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology.
• Monitor trials weekly and perform in-season assessments.
• Complete tissue sampling of trial fields and others as needed.
• Utilize drone and satellite imagery to collect data.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures; EHS, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures must be observed.
• All other duties as assigned.
