Job summary

South Central FS is seeking a MiField Agronomy Intern in Vandalia, IL. This hands‑on internship supports precision ag initiatives, data interpretation, and customer interactions while working with FS Crop Specialists and the Precision Ag team.

The role involves field inspections, imagery analysis, tissue sampling, and daily collaboration with grower customers. Requires ongoing college coursework in agriculture and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• At least one year of college experience in an ag-related degree program.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with crop specialist on utilizing MiField technology and deliver results with recommendations to customers.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology.
• Monitor trials weekly and perform in-season assessments.
• Complete tissue sampling of trial fields and others as needed.
• Utilize drone and satellite imagery to collect data.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures.
