Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an experienced Aerospace Painter to apply finishes on flight-critical components in our CA facility. You will prepare, mask, mix, and spray aerospace paints using HVLP and related equipment, ensuring conformance to drawing and specification requirements.

Responsibilities include masking, surface preparation, curing, documentation for environmental compliance, and collaboration with manufacturing and QA to deliver high-quality parts for space programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree not required if experience is strong.
• 1 year experience with hand and spray equipment, masking methods.
• 3 years experience with multi-component aerospace paints, HVLP/airless equipment, environmental records, and aerospace docs.
• 5 years aerospace painting experience with knowledge of paints, primers, masking templates, and repair methods.

Responsibilities

• Use various spray-painting equipment to apply finishes meeting specs.
• Interpret masking requirements per specifications.
• Prepare surfaces and apply aerospace paints, primers, and coatings per specs.
• Read aerospace blueprints and drawings to plan steps and ensure compliance.
• Move parts through painting process using material-handling equipment.
• Maintain environmental documentation and records for compliance.
