Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Corporation, New York, invites applications for an N/C & Conventional Grinder Operator (Aerospace). You will set up, operate, and maintain NC/CNC and manual grinding machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components, following strict quality standards and tolerances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Experience operating CNC/NC and conventional grinding machines.
• Strong understanding of grinding processes and aerospace materials.
• Ability to read aerospace drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• High attention to detail and quality-conscious.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
• CNC programming or G-code editing experience.
• Certification in machining or manufacturing technology.
• Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC/CNC and conventional grinding machines for aerospace components.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Select grinding wheels, tooling, and machine parameters for aerospace materials.
• Perform precision grinding to tight tolerances and surface finishes.
• Inspect finished parts with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators.
• Maintain documentation including inspection reports and traceability.
• Follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering to resolve issues and improve processes.
