Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform quality checks on the production floor and monitor production activities in a union role.

The position involves ensuring compliance with specification requirements and maintaining thorough records in a dynamic precast manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include inspecting processes, monitoring batching, recording test data, and coordinating with production leads to address deviations, with a focus on safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the precast industry or related industry.
• ACI Field Tech I Quality control certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings.
• Clear and precise record-keeping.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
• Must be a team player and eager to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verify procedures follow specifications by communicating with production leads.
• Monitor daily production activities for proper batching, placement and curing.
• Monitor test data to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Notify the Quality Control Manager of deviations.
• Move items through production stages and keep them tracked.
• Mark items to ensure completion in a controlled, timely manner.
• Review Quality System Procedure Manuals regularly.
• Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections of precast products.
• Document testing records and inspections in a well-organized system.
• Perform standard testing (Concrete Testing, Unit weight, moisture, weekly checks, D-loads, gradations, dry fits).
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Assist in training and hands-on activities as needed.
• Take proactive steps to reduce detailing operations.
• Document repairs and identify causes.
• Initiate maintenance requests and corrective actions as necessary.
• Report major defects to the Quality Control Manager promptly.
