Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and perform owner and agency inspections when required.

The role verifies prestressing operations, reviews mix designs and strength records, accepts or rejects finished products, maintains QC records, and supervises Level I inspectors, with PCI Level II certification required.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast/prestressed plant
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred
• Able to hold production line to the specification during rush periods

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning, transfer strength
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings
• Dispositon repairs; maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review their records
