Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control in precast and prestressed production and serve as the field eyes on owner and agency projects. You verify prestressing operations, review mix designs and strength records, and accept or reject finished products while keeping QC records as required.

You will supervise Level I inspectors, assign daily coverage, and ensure compliance with PCI and DOT certification programs; a current PCI Level II

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specs.
• ACI strength testing certification preferred.
• Ability to enforce specifications on production lines when schedules demand.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against spec and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI/DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors and assign daily coverage.
• Review inspectors' records for compliance.
