Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production and to perform owner and agency plant inspections for DOT and structural precast programs. Responsibilities include verifying prestressing operations, reviewing designs and strength records, and maintaining QC documentation to meet PCI and DOT requirements.

Qualified candidates hold PCI Level II, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant;

Qualifications

• PCI Level II certification current, with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specifications
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred
• Ability to maintain production line to specification when schedule is tight

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, elongation, detensioning sequence, and transfer strength
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records
• Accept or reject finished products against specifications and shop drawings
• Disposition repairs and maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review records
• Act as outside eye on owner/agency assignments; ensure acceptance decisions are well-documented
