Job summary

A leading concrete supplier in Lincoln, NE, seeks support staff for concrete production. Responsibilities include operating tools, mixing concrete, and maintaining safety standards. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support all labor activities in concrete product production.
• Mix, place, and finish concrete.
• Clean and remove forms.
• Place and finish concrete in forms using shovels, screeds, vibrators, floats, trowels and other appropriate tools.
• Clean work areas and equipment using shovels, vacuums, wheelbarrows, solvents, petroleum based products and other appropriate material.
• Be proficient in the use of small hand and power tools.
• With adequate training, operate other tools such as cutting torches, stressing jacks, pipe tipper, etc.
• Mix, place and finish concrete patch mixes used to repair finished products.
• Assist in assuring a safe, clean yard environment. Assure team approach to safety standards.
• May require extended work hours (up to 12 hours), irregular shifts and possible weekends to meet business production needs.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Position Summary
Supports all labor activity involved in the production of various concrete products, the fabrication of the reinforcing members and the repair and storage of finished products.$1,500 hiring bonus!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Clean, install and remove metal and wooden forms.

Prepare, carry and place concrete reinforcing components.

Place and finish concrete in forms using shovels, screeds, vibrators, floats, trowels and other appropriate tools.

Clean work areas and equipment using shovels, vacuums, wheelbarrows, solvents, petroleum based products and other appropriate material.

Be proficient in the use of small hand and power tools such as hammers, chisels, pliers, grinders, impact wrenches, saws, etc.

With adequate training, will operate other tools such as cutting torches, stressing jacks, pipe tipper, etc.

Mix, place and finish concrete patch mixes used to repair finished products.

Assist in assuring a safe, clean yard environment. Assure team approach to safety standards.

May require extended work hours (up to 12 hours), irregular shifts and possible weekends to meet business production needs.

Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements & Education

• Some high school and one year job related previous heavy industry experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient on the use of small hand and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude helpful.

Work Environment
The employee is occasionally required to climb on a step ladder and other raised platforms to a height of 12' or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.

The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds to a height of 48", turn, twist and carry.

All required PPE will be provided except for steel-toe boots.

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.
