Job description

Concrete Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of NEBCO, Inc. (“Company”), needs 9 temporary Concrete Production Laborers from 04/01/2026 – 11/30/2026 for work in Lincoln, Nebraska. Work is full-time; Monday–Friday; 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; at least 45 hrs/week; the Company uses a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due; workers are paid every week. Pay is $24.42 /hr with applicable benefits. Workers are eligible for overtime pay of $36.63 /hr, equal to one and one half times the regular hourly rate for all hours over 40 in a given workweek, which may be available based on weather conditions and business needs (historic average is approximately 11 hours per week in the peak of the busy season). If requested by workers, Company will assist with securing adequate housing for the temporary season plus utilities in employer‑owned and/or employer‑rented housing at a rate of approximately $200.00 per person per pay period. Company will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law, plus $200.00 per person per pay period for housing expenses for employees who choose them. Company will also provide a $100.00 advance, which will be deducted from future paychecks.

Position Summary

Perform general construction labor activity related to the production of various concrete products. Provide general labor in support of skilled trade workers (such as masons) with general construction labor tasks consistent with the duties below.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manually clean, install and remove metal and wooden concrete forms.
  • Manually prepare, carry, and assist skilled workers in placement of concrete reinforcing components.
  • Place and finish concrete in forms using shovels, screeds, vibrators, floats, trowels and other appropriate tools.
  • Clean work areas and equipment using cleaning products and other appropriate material.
  • Be proficient in the use of small hand and power tools such as hammers, chisels, pliers, grinders, impact wrenches, saws, etc.
  • With adequate training, general laborers may assist skilled trade workers to operate other tools such as cutting torches, stressing jacks, pipe tipper, etc.
  • Perform manual labor tasks related to mixing, placing, and finishing concrete patch mixes used to repair finished products.
  • Assist in assuring a safe, clean, and sanitary yard and internal environment.
  • Assure a team approach to safety standards.
  • Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.

Company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job to workers at no charge. The costs of transportation (including subsistence and, to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed upon arrival (subject to repayment to Company if the workers do not complete at least one-half of the employment period). Company will reimburse H‑2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, that are actually incurred by the workers (other than those fees primarily for the benefit of the workers). Upon completion of the work contract or where a worker is dismissed earlier, Company will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Company guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three‑quarters of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the total employment period.
