Job summary

Concrete Industries, Inc. is seeking a forklift operator to join its pipe division in Lincoln, Nebraska. This role safely operates a rough terrain lift truck to move and load pipe and manhole products, while adhering to the company safety program and policies.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of forklift experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Forklift certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have safety awareness and follow safety procedures.
• Depth perception is essential to load and unload materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Operate a rough terrain lift truck safely to move products.
• Position forks and transport loads to designated areas.
• Coordinate storage of concrete products with yard staff.
• Load concrete pipe and manhole products for shipment per SOPs.
• Remove waste materials and maintain a clean yard.
• Assist with maintenance and minor repairs of equipment.
• Perform daily inspections and report needs.
• Follow OSHA, NEBCO, and company safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Concrete Industries, Inc. is looking for a forklift operator to join their pipe division. This position operates a rough terrain lift truck in a safe and efficient manner while yarding Concrete Industries pipe and manhole products and materials. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates a lift truck in a safe and efficient manner through levers and pedals to drive the vehicle and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, or other lifting device under, over, or around products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Coordinates storage of concrete products with other yard staff.
• Accurately loads concrete pipe and manhole products for shipment in accordance with Concrete Industries and D.O.T. shipping practices.
• Removes waste material and waste product to maintain a clean yard.
• Assists with maintenance and repairs of pertinent equipment.
• Performs daily inspections and reports maintenance that may be required or performs minor repairs.
• Follows all OSHA, NEBCO, and Concrete Industries safety and human resource policies, programs, and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
• one year of related experience operating forklift; or
• equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid Driver’s License
• Forklift certification will need to be obtained within 3 months of hire date.

Other Qualifications

• Must have safety awareness and the ability to assure work is performed according to department safety standards.
• Must have excellent depth perception to load and onload materials without damaging the load.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Must have general maintenance knowledge and ability.
• Must be self motivated and able to follow directions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills; simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is required.
• Ability to follow supervisory directions and realize safe operating procedures.
