Job summary

Volkert is seeking an experienced Precast Prestressed Concrete Fabrication Inspector to support our Southwest Region, covering Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

You will inspect compliance, test materials, document daily diaries, coordinate with contractors, and help resolve constructability issues to keep projects on schedule. Travel and safety focus are essential; opportunities for professional growth are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity and travel as needed.
• Must be able to work out of town and weekends as required.
• Must apply safety philosophy to all operations.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel throughout LA/MS/TX.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and maintain safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precast-prestressed concrete products for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications.
• Test materials and review plans to ensure quality.
• Keep daily diaries on project operations and troubleshoot issues to prevent delays.
• Monitor contractor’s daily operations and coordinate with team and supervisors.
• Test concrete on-site and communicate effectively with contractors and team.

We are currently searching for an experienced Precast Prestressed Concrete Fabrication Inspectorto support our Southwest Region located in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to travel for work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications of precast-prestressed concrete products
• Testing of materials; review of plans
• Keeping daily diaries on project operations, resolving daily constructability issues and troubleshooting problems to mitigate delays to project’s progress
• Monitoring contractor's daily operations
• Effectively communicating and coordinating work with contractor, coworkers and supervisors
• Testing concrete on-site

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing
• Must be able to work out of town and weekends as required
• Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
• Must possess immediate ability to work in the United States
• Must be willing travel if needed throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
