Job summary

Volkert Inc. in the Southwest Region is seeking an experienced Precast Prestressed Concrete Fabrication Inspector to ensure quality and conformance of precast products in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

The role requires a high school diploma and the ability to travel for work. You will inspect for compliance with contract documents, test materials, review plans, keep daily diaries, monitor contractor operations, and coordinate with teams to prevent delays.

• Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations.
• Must be able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precast-prestressed concrete products for compliance with contract documents.
• Test materials; review plans.
• Maintain daily diaries of project operations and troubleshoot issues to mitigate delays.
• Monitor contractor's daily operations.
• Coordinate and communicate with contractor, coworkers and supervisors.
• Test concrete on-site.

We are currently searching for an experienced Precast Prestressed Concrete Fabrication Inspector to support ourSouthwest Region located in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to travel for work.

What you'll be doing:

• Inspection for compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications of precast-prestressed concrete products
• Testing of materials; review of plans
• Keeping daily diaries on project operations, resolving daily constructability issues and troubleshooting problems to mitigate delays to project's progress
• Monitoring contractor's daily operations
• Effectively communicating and coordinating work with contractor, coworkers and supervisors
• Testing concrete on-site

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and standing
• Must be able to work out of town and weekends as required
• Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
• Must possess immediate ability to work in the United States
• Must be willing travel if needed throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
