Job summary

Coastal Precast Systems LLC in Norfolk, VA seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer with 3–8 years of precast concrete experience in marine, transportation or heavy construction environments to perform design and analysis for concrete and steel structures.

Candidates must hold a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, be PE or able to obtain within 12 months, read Architectural/Structural drawings, coordinate with designers and contractors, and prove AutoCAD 2D with 3D capability, MS Office proficiency,

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• PE or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Structural Precast Concrete Experience required in marine, transportation or heavy construction environments.
• 3-8 years experience in precast concrete or a heavy construction environment.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations for concrete and steel structures utilizing the appropriate design codes and standards.
• Ability to read Architectural and Structural drawings, with the ability to convert CIP to precast for a variety of precast products.
• Interfaces with project design team contractors, architects, and engineers to resolve issues andmaintain schedules.
• Draft/Check/Layout projects and detail any product components or erection drawings
• AutoCAD Proficiency, 2D experience with 3D knowledge
• Use and knowledge of MS office.
• Should excel at problem solving and be detailed oriented
• Self starter, motivated, as well as being able to work alone or on a team
• Must be fluent and articulate in the English language as well as being able to write procedures and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for concrete and steel structures.
• Read and interpret Architectural/Structural drawings and convert CIP to precast layouts.
• Coordinate with project design team, contractors, architects, and engineers to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Draft and check layout projects and detail product components or erection drawings.
• Coordinate multiple projects and collaborate with drafting personnel; utilize AutoCAD and 2D/3D capabilities.
• Utilize MS Office for documentation and reporting.
• Communicate clearly in English and write procedures/specifications.
