Job summary

Metro Associates in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Precast Designer to perform drafting and design tasks for precast and prestressed concrete in transportation infrastructure and underground structures. You will collaborate with project teams, project managers, and engineers to deliver safe, durable, constructible, and cost-effective solutions.

You will gain experience developing technical judgment, design quality, and leadership under mentoring from senior professionals while contributing to QA/QC

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of design experience in precast concrete design for transportation infrastructure and underground structures.
• AS degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Familiar with ACI 318, ACI 350, ASCE-7 and AASHTO.
• Experience in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned precast drafting and design tasks for transportation infrastructure and underground structures.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop cost-effective precast designs.
• Create accurate drawings, plans, and specifications aligned with industry standards.
• Support material cost estimation and assist Project Managers and Designers through the project lifecycle.
• Utilize QA/QC processes and gain knowledge of precast and prestressed concrete technologies and codes.
