Job summary

Apple seeks an engineering manager for the Pre-silicon Compute Frameworks team to lead API development and performance analysis for Metal and GPU compute features in future Apple Silicon GPUs.

You will collaborate with Apple software and hardware leaders to propose and evaluate hardware features from emulation to silicon, guiding a team of engineers toward a strong software/hardware roadmap.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years in a management or lead role.
• Strong grasp of at least one GPU compute API (Metal/CUDA/OpenCL).
• Good understanding of ML fundamentals and familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, CoreML).
• Knowledge of OS, computer architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
• Strong background in C/C++ programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and grow the Pre-silicon Compute Frameworks team to deliver software and APIs for new hardware features.
• Provide direction to ensure APIs enable developers to leverage new hardware features simply.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align software/hardware roadmaps with state-of-the-art capabilities.
• Contribute to bring-up of new chips and products with new GPUs.
