Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an engineering manager to lead the Pre-silicon Compute Frameworks team, directing API design across Metal and Metal compute frameworks and analyzing performance for future Apple Silicon GPUs.

You will partner with leaders across software and hardware to propose and evaluate hardware features from emulation through silicon, shaping a robust compute and ML roadmap.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 2–3 years as a manager or lead.
• Strong grasp of at least one GPU compute API (Metal, CUDA, OpenCL).
• Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, CoreML).
• Knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
• Strong background in C/C++ programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and grow the Pre-silicon Compute Framework team to deliver software.
• Provide direction and guidance to ensure API designs enable use of new hardware features.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure roadmaps include state-of-the-art features and performance.
• Contribute to the bring-up of new chips and products using GPUs.
