Job summary

Apple’s Graphics, Games, and Machine Learning team seeks an engineering manager to lead the Pre-silicon Compute Frameworks group. You will guide API development for Metal compute frameworks and perform performance analyses for future Apple Silicon GPUs, partnering with hardware and software leaders to align roadmap.

As manager, you will grow a team of engineers, set priorities, and ensure APIs enable developers to access new hardware features simply.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 2–3 years as a manager or lead.
• Strong grasp and practical experience with at least one GPU compute API (Metal, CUDA, OpenCL, etc.).
• Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals and familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, CoreML).
• Knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
• Strong background in C/C++ programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and grow the Pre-silicon Compute Framework team to deliver software, representing Apple’s roadmap for compute and ML technologies during hardware development.
• Provide direction and guidance to ensure the team designs APIs that enable developers to make full use of new hardware features in the simplest way possible.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure our software and hardware roadmap includes the state-of-the-art features and performance.
• Contribute to the bring-up of new chips and products using our new GPUs.
