Job summary

Availity is seeking a Solutions Architect to drive strategic healthcare interoperability and workflow transformation opportunities. You will translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, collaborating with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to win technical deals.

In this remote US role, you will engage CIOs and enterprise architects, map objectives to capabilities, and design architectures across payer, provider, and HIT organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, healthcare informatics, engineering, or related field.
  • 3–6+ years in solutions architecture, interoperability, implementation, or presales.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles with healthcare organizations, technology vendors, or consulting engagements.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, APIs, and X12 transactions.
  • Experience discussing technical architecture with executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with provider and payer workflows, including revenue cycle, claims, eligibility, prior authorization, and clinical documentation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic business and technical discovery sessions to identify customer challenges and transformation opportunities.
  • Design solution architectures and integration strategies leveraging Availity Extend, FHIR APIs, interoperability standards, and workflow automation capabilities.
  • Present value-driven solution recommendations and reference architectures to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Product, and Delivery teams to accelerate technical wins and drive revenue growth.
  • Translate customer business requirements into scalable technical designs, integration approaches, and future-state workflow models.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers navigating interoperability and healthcare technology transformation initiatives.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Solutions Architect focused on strategic healthcare interoperability and workflow transformation opportunities. This role serves as a technical translator between business and technology stakeholders, helping healthcare organizations envision how Availity's platform, interoperability capabilities, and workflow solutions can solve complex business challenges. The Solutions Architect will partner closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to drive pipeline growth, accelerate technical wins, and architect scalable solutions across payer, provider, and Health IT (HIT) organizations. This individual will lead executive-level discovery, develop compelling value and ROI narratives, map customer business objectives to Availity capabilities, and design technical solution architectures that align with customer environments and strategic goals. The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to both business and technical decision makers, including CIOs, enterprise architects, interoperability leaders, and operational executives.

To be qualified for this position you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-6+ years of healthcare technology experience in solutions architecture, consulting, interoperability, implementation, or technical presales
  • Experience in customer-facing roles supporting healthcare organizations, technology vendors, or consulting engagements
  • Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, APIs, and X12 transactions
  • Experience discussing technical architecture with both executive and technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with provider and payer workflows, including revenue cycle, claims, eligibility, prior authorization, and clinical documentation processes
  • Experience designing integration strategies and solution architectures
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions and technical concepts into business value
  • Demonstrated success partnering with sales teams to drive pipeline growth and customer adoption
You will set yourself apart with:
  • Experience with FHIR implementation guides, Da Vinci accelerators, and healthcare interoperability programs
  • Experience integrating with EHR platforms such as Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Athenahealth, Meditech, or similar systems
  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration, automation platforms, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, REST APIs, API gateways, and event-driven architectures
  • Exposure to AI-enabled workflows, intelligent automation, or agentic healthcare solutions
  • Ability to read code, understand data models, and collaborate effectively with engineering teams
