Our Pre-Production Lab Technician will:

  • Be responsible for conducting various inspections, dimensional measurements, and performance tests to support product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Work in a lab environment utilizing equipment including but not limited to tensile testers, water baths, ovens, scales, force gauges, calipers, gage pins, and height gages.
  • Be responsible for documenting and communicating results as well as supporting the management of test samples.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret drawings.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and mechanical tests using lab equipment such as tensile testers, water baths, ovens, scales, force gauges, calipers, gage pins, and height gages.
  • Offer suggestions or ideas for product test setups.
  • Cut and cross-section parts as needed.
  • Identify failure modes and potential root causes.
  • Record results, defects, deviations, etc., in detailed reports or control software.
  • Navigate and utilize software such as JDE, SQC Pack, and MQ1.
  • Help monitor maintenance and calibration for lab equipment.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prepare PPAP reports.
  • Organize, prioritize, and multi-task daily activities to support project priorities.
  • Manage test samples.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in product inspection and testing in a manufacturing quality lab.
  • Experience using test and measurement equipment.
  • Technical/print reading skills; knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
  • The ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, lift, and walk for periods of time; good hearing, vision, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment is required.
