Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center operations and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; perioperative certifications beneficial.
• Previous management or charge nurse experience in an ASC or hospital setting preferred.

Role Description

The Pre Post RN Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bloomfield Hills, MI. This position oversees nursing operations and patient flow in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care areas, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient care. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and mentoring nursing staff, coordinating patient assessments, monitoring recovery, and supporting physicians and clinical teams throughout the surgical process. The manager will develop and implement clinical protocols, maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows and staffing. Additional responsibilities include performance evaluation, staff scheduling, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and fostering a patient-centered, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan; BSN preferred, with prior experience in pre-op, PACU, or perioperative nursing.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance evaluation.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities, including experience with post-anesthesia monitoring, pain management, and patient safety protocols.
• Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center operations, regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission), and infection prevention practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and administrative staff.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), basic computer applications, and documentation standards.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; additional perioperative or PACU certifications are beneficial.
• Previous management or charge nurse experience in an ASC or hospital setting strongly preferred.
