Qualifications

• Current or compact RN license in Iowa.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administers nursing care to patients; assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care with physician input.
• Provides care guided by physician orders, unit protocols and professional judgment.
• Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, patients, families and healthcare team members.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities related to clinical knowledge and professional issues.
• Delivers care preserving patient autonomy, dignity and rights.
• Uses hospital information system to process orders and retrieve patient data.
• Maintains documentation requirements for patient records.
• Works independently with minimal supervision within scope of practice.
