Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Michigan seeks a transportation technician responsible for moving patients, equipment, specimens, and medical records across the medical center campus. You will dispatch and prioritize runs and ensure safe, efficient transport throughout the day.

You transport preoperative and postoperative patients to and from the operating room, record daily statistics, and finalize monthly reports as required. Strong communication and safety procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• Computer knowledge required.
• Quality customer service skills required, excellent customer relation skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate successfully with patients, family and staff required.
• Mandatory OSHA training must be completed annually.

Responsibilities

• (50%) Transport patients throughout the medical center including occasional trips to specific centers; transport pre- and post-op patients to and from operating room; discharge patients.
• (25%) Transport supplies, equipment, specimens, medical records throughout the medical center.
• (25%) Work as dispatcher and prioritize runs based on patient needs; utilize strong communication skills.
