Responsibilities

• Assesses and plans total nursing care for pre-operative patients.
• Records and reports symptoms and conditions to appropriate personnel.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Discharges pre-operative patients per facility policy.
• Pre-operative chart review for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensures pre-operative consent and workups are complete.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintains supplies and cleanliness; reports equipment issues.
