Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for our Pre-Admission Testing team to support the Pre-Op/PACU/PAT care continuum. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, nursing process delivery, and seamless coordination of preoperative testing and patient care.

The candidate should have a Texas Nursing License, solid hospital experience, and strong communication skills to ensure high-quality patient preparation for surgery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Texas Nursing License.
• Current CPR; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital experience.
• 2 years Critical Care preferred.
• PreOp PACU experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good organization habits.
• Able to adapt to change quickly with strong surgical knowledge.
• Understands aseptic technique and its implementation.
• Able to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Excellent teaching skills.
• Basic knowledge of continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Implement Pre-Op holding record (patients’ medical record) under supervision.
• Assimilate patients’ hospital records for continuity of care.
• Perform nursing process for pre-op testing and care.
• Provide continuity and quality of nursing care for patients pre-admission.
