Job summary

GetHired, Inc. seeks a Charge Nurse in Louisiana to oversee preoperative and perioperative care in a busy orthopedic/spine unit. The role requires an LA RN license, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff.

You will lead daily assignments, ensure patient safety, and complete required documentation (H&P, consents, orders) while mentoring team members and upholding hospital standards and mission.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active RN license in Louisiana.
• Two years nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough medical histories, medication histories, and preoperative instructions using EMR.
• Follow orders for all surgeons and anesthesia per guidelines.
• Organize nursing activities and manage patient care in preop areas.
• Coordinate preoperative patient care and communicate with physicians and staff.
• Provide patient education, explanations, and reassurance throughout care.
• Complete documentation including H&P, consents, orders, allergies, and preop instructions.
