Job summary

Avala in Louisiana is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse for the Orthopedic and Spine program. You will oversee nursing staff, coordinate patient care, and ensure safety and quality across the outpatient surgery unit.

The role requires an RN license in Louisiana, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 1+ years of nursing leadership; certification in Advanced Orthopedic and Spine is preferred. You will mentor staff, participate in QA activities, and ensure proper documentation throughout care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Louisiana with current credentials.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in perioperative/outpatient care advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassess per policy.
• Supervise and coordinate unit nursing activities and staffing.
• Lead patient teaching from pre-op to discharge.
• Ensure documentation (H&P, consents, meds) is complete.
• Communicate with physicians and supervise staff for safety.
