Job summary

GetHired, Inc. in Louisiana seeks a Charge Nurse to oversee preoperative and perioperative care within the surgical unit.

This role coordinates patient care, directs staff, maintains safety, and ensures documentation and compliance with anesthesia and surgical protocols. You will lead by example, communicate clearly with physicians, patients, and families, and apply Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Certification practices.

Qualifications

• RN license in Louisiana required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough preoperative assessments and obtain medication history.
• Follow orders and procedures per anesthesia guidelines.
• Coordinate and supervise preoperative patient care and teaching.
• Ensure accurate documentation including H&P, consents, and preoperative instructions.
• Lead unit staff, monitor scheduling, and ensure staffing efficiency.
• Promote hospital mission and patient-centered care.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and patient safety in the preoperative area.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and families to support safe care.
