Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston, TX seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Pre-Op to ensure high-quality, efficient perioperative care. The RN will perform pre-operative assessments, plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care according to individual patient needs in the Same Day Surgery Unit, from pre-op through post-op,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with RN licensure in Texas.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years medical-surgical experience; post-anesthesia care experience preferred.
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Unit provides safe and effective perioperative care in pre-operative and post-operative phases.
• Proactively works toward goals from previous evaluations and manages patients admitted to the Same Day Surgery Unit.
• Performs pre-operative, pre-procedure assessments of patients prior to planned intervention.
• Plans, coordinates, and provides nursing care according to individual patient needs.

Texas RN license

2 years medical-surgical experience

BLS/BCLS CPR

ACLS certification

PALS/PLS certification

Education
