Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre Op/PACU at Great Bend Hospital. This full-time day shift position involves 4x10s and 5x8s with on-call 6 shifts per month including weekends and holidays.

You will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, monitor anesthesia related care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree Nursing required.
• Bachelor Degree Nursing preferred.
• State licensure as RN required ( Kansas preferred ).

Responsibilities

• Collects and assesses initial and ongoing data about the health status of the patient.
• Develops and revises patient care plans with the health care team.
• Administers medications and parenteral fluids safely per policy.
• Provides patient education about procedures, medications and care plans.
• Documents care and communicates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Performs airway management and responds to emergencies per protocols.
