Job summary

Gateway Surgery Center in Kingston, AL is seeking a Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) to provide continuous nursing care for patients before and after anesthesia in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will perform assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation, support physicians in the OR, maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety, privacy and comfort.

Qualifications

• Current PA Nursing License.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum 2 year experience in GI preferred.
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp and PACU.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate for discharge.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee care for patients of any age in PreOp and PACU; follow nursing standards and center policies.
• Communicate information to the team and participate in quality improvement audits and projects.

Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN)

The Pre Op / PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge. Plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients of any age in the PreOp and PACU department. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the manager, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.

Qualifications:
