Job summary

Comprehensive Outpatient Joint and Spine Institute (COJSI) is seeking a Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high‑quality nursing care in the PACU, supporting patient safety and comfort from anesthesia emergence through discharge.

The RN must hold an active Florida RN license with BLS/ACLS; PALS if required. PACU/critical care experience is preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PACU.
• Continually evaluate patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia; assess, plan, implement and evaluate for discharge.

Pre Op PACU Registered Nurse (Pre Op PACU RN) The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
