Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the surgical floor/ recovery unit. The role requires ADN with BSN preferred, Florida RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certifications. 1+ year of surgical/ recovery experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Florida.
• CPR/BLS, ACLS required; PALS preferred.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: 4 x10s, 0600-1630.
• Call: Yes, rotating Weekends.
• Assesses and documents patients and families needs to provide necessary data for quality care.
• Gathers and analyzes data to formulate initial nursing care and discharge plans.
• Identifies and reports patient condition abnormalities to anesthesia or surgeon.
• Observes and assesses assigned patients during their stay in the outpatient surgery department.
• Documents medications, drug allergies, and patient information.
• Implements and documents nursing interventions and physician's orders accurately and promptly.
• Prepares and administers medications, IV fluids, and blood products according to orders and hospital policy.
• Coordinates scheduling and preparation for various procedures.
• Communicates with patients and families, providing pre-op and post-op education and addressing their needs.
• Utilizes the Computerized Physician Order entry process and proficiently uses the EMR for retrieval of patient information.
• Maintains a safe environment by checking equipment, stocking supplies, and reporting safety concerns.
• Participates in professional development and maintain required certifications and competencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
