Job summary

Primrose School of West McDonough is hiring a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to nurture and educate young children. No nights or weekends required, and training is provided to those new to the field.

You will partner with families to create joyful, foundational learning experiences using our Balanced Learning curriculum and digital platform. This role offers a supportive on-site leadership team, opportunities for advancement, and competitive pay with employee benefits, including uniforms and tuition

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background check including fingerprinting.
• Georgia DECAL health and safety training.
• State pre-service orientation before working alone.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 45 days.
• Annual state-mandated training hours.
• CDA or ECE degree preferred; otherwise training provided.
• Experience with pre-kindergarten children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for pre-kindergarten-aged children
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that are created for you
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning space
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
• Support children's individual learning needs and encourage their social and emotional growth

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass a satisfactory comprehensive background check (including fingerprinting) before working with children
• Must complete Georgia's 10-hour DECAL-required health and safety training (completed during onboarding if hired — no action needed to apply)
• Must complete the state-required pre-service orientation before working alone with children
• Must obtain current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within the first 45 days of employment (we help schedule this during your two weeks of onboarding)
• Must complete ongoing annual training hours as required by the state
• Must provide documentation of good physical and mental health to safely care for children
• One of the following is preferred: a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, a Technical College Certificate in ECE, or equivalent education and experience
• Experience working with young children is strongly preferred, ideally with pre-kindergarten-aged children
• If Seeking Career Switchers: no prior experience required — training will be provided

Salary Range: $14.00–$18.00 per hour
