Job summary

Primrose School of West McDonough is hiring an Early Preschool Teacher to nurture and guide young learners. The role uses our digital learning platform to deliver age-appropriate lessons in a warm, supportive environment.

Training will be provided, with opportunities for advancement and a competitive hourly pay range. Requirements include background checks, Georgia DECAL health and safety training, pre-service orientation, and CPR/First Aid certification within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a satisfactory background check (including fingerprinting).
• Must complete Georgia's 10-hour DECAL health and safety training (onboarding).
• Must complete state-required pre-service orientation before working alone with children.
• Must obtain pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for early preschool-aged children.
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans created for you.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning space.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Support children's individual learning needs and encourage social and emotional growth.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass a satisfactory comprehensive background check (including fingerprinting) before working with children
• Must complete Georgia's 10-hour DECAL-required health and safety training (completed during onboarding if hired — no action needed to apply)
• Must complete the state-required pre-service orientation before working alone with children
• Must obtain current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within the first 45 days of employment (we help schedule this during your two weeks of onboarding)
• Must complete ongoing annual training hours as required by the state
• Must provide documentation of good physical and mental health to safely care for children
• One of the following is preferred: a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, a Technical College Certificate in ECE, or equivalent education and experience
• Experience working with young children is strongly preferred, ideally in a preschool or pathways classroom
• If Seeking Career Switchers: no prior experience required — training will be provided

Salary Range: $14.00–$18.00 per hour

Shift Schedule: Various shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; exact shift assigned once hired.
