MedStar Health in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled transplant nurse to provide professional nursing care for transplant patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, following established standards and policies.

The role collaborates with physicians, UNOS, schedulers, social workers and insurance coordinators to manage pre- and post-transplant care, educate patients, perform triage, and maintain accurate waiting lists.

Formación

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 3-4 years professional nursing experience required.
• 1-2 years transplant outpatient or dialysis experience preferred.
• RN license in DC required; compact state licensure acceptable.
• CPR certification required within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Provide professional nursing care for transplant patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Perform patient assessment, education, discharge planning and triage.
• Coordinate pre/post-transplant care with physicians, UNOS, schedulers and social workers.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, meds, nutrition and wellness.
• Maintain patient records, consent forms and treatment plans; monitor drug effects.
