Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada is seeking a Pre-K Teacher Aide to assist a lead teacher in delivering standards-based instruction at the Early Childhood Learning Center. The role emphasizes creating a safe, inclusive, and responsive classroom environment for all students.

You will support daily and long-range lesson plans, help implement the curriculum, and collaborate with administrators, staff, parents/guardians, and the community to promote student learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in education preferred.
• 1,000 hours of direct Pre-K/Early Childhood experience preferred.
• CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Job description

Reporting to an Education Director/Lead Teacher – Pre-K, the Pre-K Teacher Aide is responsible to assist a teacher with all aspects of preparation and delivery of age appropriate, standards-based instruction to children enrolled in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) Pre-K program at the Early Childhood Learning (ECL) Center. The Pre-K Teacher Aide will be responsible to maintain a safe, inclusive, and responsive educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning.

The essential job duties for this role include:

• Provide the opportunity for all students to learn in a safe, supportive, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment that positively promotes learning.
• Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the instructional environment.
• Adhere to all standards regarding safety. Make timely reports of any incidents, hazards, or conditions which could affect the safety of children and/or staff. Participates in safety assessments and planning for safety improvement.
• Assist with the implementation and/or administration of appropriate curriculum, aligned with the Nevada Pre–K Standards.
• Assist with the implementation of daily and long-range lesson plans using research-based strategies to meet the needs of all students, including but not limited to, students who have been identified as at-risk and above grade level, students with individualized educational programs (IEP), and English language learners (ELL).
• Participate in and ensure assessment regulations and guidelines are followed.
• Collaborate effectively and professionally with administrators, other ECL and BGCSNV staff, parents/guardians, and the community.
• Assist with student reporting in the system for the Pre–K Early Childhood outcomes.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate student files and records.
• Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position, as assigned.

Other Duties

• May be required to assist with BGCSNV special events.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• 1,000 hours of direct experience in pre-K/Early Childhood Education setting.
• Current CPR/AED certificate.
• Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. Ability to interact professionally with the public, vendors and other professional staff.
• The ability to occasionally work irregular or extended hours.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.), Bright Wheel platform and curriculum, and Infinite Campus platform.
