Job summary

The Jefferson County CAPC Pre-k Classroom in Antwerp seeks a Teacher Assistant to support the Master Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for preschool children; ensures the safety of the children; carries out the Universal Pre-K Standards; assumes the lead role in the classroom during the absence of the Master Teacher; and keeps accurate recordkeeping.

The Teacher Assistant reports directly to the Master Teacher and the Pre-k Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA required.
• Experience in a licensed or registered early childhood setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Master Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for preschool children.
• Ensure the safety of the children and carry out Universal Pre-K Standards.
• Assume lead role in classroom during Master Teacher's absence.
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping and reports to Master Teacher and Pre-k Coordinator.
