Job summary

CAPCC is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support preschool learning environments. The role includes supervising children, implementing routines, and assisting with assessments and family communications.

Staff must maintain certifications and pass required clearances, with priority given to candidates holding a CDA or higher education in ECE. The candidate will collaborate to deliver Creative Curriculum activities, ensure safety, and participate in ongoing training and home visits

Qualifications

• Current CDA credential; or 2+ years postsecondary study with 60 credits; or Associate degree or higher.
• PA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Clearances including Child Abuse, PA State Police, FBI Fingerprinting and NSOR.
• Vaccination requirements per funder.
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and State Learning Standards.
• CLASS knowledge.
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Chaperone children and prevent unattended situations across all settings.
• Assist in establishing an active learning environment.
• Use Teaching Strategies Gold Online for data entry three times per year.
• Maintain daily routines aligned with Creative Curriculum.
• Observe and assess children to plan lessons per schedule.
• Communicate with families through home visits and conferences.
• Practice health routines and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain records and screenings within 45 days of start.
