Job summary

COMMUNITY ACTION PLANNING COUNCIL OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, INC. seeks a Master Teacher to lead a 5-hour daily Pre-K session for up to 18 three-year-olds, working with a Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide.

Position requires supervising staff, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with training standards. Education options include NYS Birth-2 or Special Education certification, or a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education with a 5-year plan to obtain certification.

Qualifications

• NYS Birth-2 or Special Education certification or a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education with a five-year plan to obtain certification.
• Experience with preschool children in an early childhood setting is required.
• Knowledge of child development and ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide.
• Provide a healthy, safe, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for up to 18 preschool children.
• Ensure training, documentation, and recordkeeping compliance.
• Report to the Pre-k Coordinator.
• Assist with quality programming for Pre-K children and families.
