Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a Teacher Assistant I - Pre-Kindergarten to support licensed teachers in delivering literacy, numeracy, and other activities for young learners. You will work with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing instruction and assisting with assessments.

The role includes supporting students with special needs, participating in IEPs, and maintaining classroom safety and organization. A High School diploma and relevant certificates are required.

Qualifications

• Education: Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency.
• Title I campuses require one of: Associate degree or 48 college hours or Pass the ParaEducator Training with 75+.
• Obtain Educational Aide Certificate; experience with children and/or parents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with literacy and math reinforcement in PK classroom.
• Support instruction for students individually and in small groups.
• Help administer classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assist students with special needs to promote inclusion and IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed and support parent involvement.
• Support classroom behavior management and safety.
• Assist with record-keeping and preparing instructional materials.
• Communicate with teachers and families to foster involvement.
